How do you deal with conflicts? Do you get loud, angry, aggressive? Do you get sad? Do you always think of the right response a day later? The artistic research killing me softly uses boxing as the ultimate embodiment of conflict to deconstruct patriarchal ideas and ideals of power, and the question of the „survival of the fittest“.

In the Pitch (im)perfect format, up-and-coming artists from North Rhine-Westphalia present their artistic concepts, ideas and projects in process. In exchange with international artists and the audience, ideas and concepts can be explored further and future plans can be developed.

This event is part of the international TanzNetzwerk Festival Dance ALL IN x Sharing Across Borders Edition 3. Find the full program and ticket information here.

Dance ALL IN x Sharing Across Borders Edition 3 is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kulturamt der Stadt Köln, Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste and Perform Europe. Realization in cooperation with studiotrade.

fear:less | Silke Z. (Germany)

fear:less | Silke Z. (Germany)

fear:less deals with social conditions of fear and questions the function of the body in this context. The culmination of various acute global crises seems to be increasingly condensing into a collective state of fear and shaping people’s behaviour. Paradoxically, at the same time as fears are on the rise, we are witnessing increasingly uninhibited language and shame-free, reckless behaviour that appears loud, unbridled and completely indifferent.

TEMPTATION | Silke Z. & David Vogel

TEMPTATION | Silke Z. & David Vogel

Come a little closer. Even closer. Super close. Can you feel our age? Can you taste our experiences? Do you desire our knowledge? Which body do you reveal to me?

In TEMPTATION, 10 performers aged over 55, move between lust and loss, flirtation and shame, pleasure and pain and create a statement on sexuality in old age(s) in biographical excerpts and physical snapshots. TEMPTATION embarks on a journey to stimulating, lost and obscure places and is dedicated to the visibility of individual pleasure in old age(s).

KINGS & QUEENS Gender roles in transition | Silke Z. and Caroline Simon

KINGS & QUEENS Gender roles in transition | Silke Z. and Caroline Simon

Under the title KINGS & QUEENS, we invite all people over 55 to explore traditional gender roles and their own positioning within them through dance art under the direction of Silke Z. and Caroline Simon. How do labels and stereotypes of gender roles become entrenched on a physical level? How can we express these in movements, challenge them and transform them into something new? What biographical imprints and self- and external attributions are there? We want to explore all these questions together with you through dance. The lab will culminate in a final performance.
