KEIN ENDE | Carla Jordão with Sônia Mota

KEIN ENDE | Carla Jordão with Sônia Mota

KEIN ENDE is the fourth performance in our guest performance series LOOK for Dance and Diversity 2024 and embodies special moments in the life of 76-year-old artist Sônia Mota. She states: “(…) in the current decade of my life, my mind is beginning to adapt to my body.” Her way of expressing herself in dance has become more relaxed for her. She reflects: “ The need to physically move faster has reduced, my soul has also calmed down. And so my dance has become much more intimate and essential over time.” In her solo, the dancer shows how life cycles complement and renew each other.

“Parkinson’s limits my freedom of movement – I often experience myself as arrhythmic, angular, stiff…when I dance I follow the rhythm of the music and not that of the disease! Then I feel light. Everything flows. Dancing is positive energy…”
