“The light that we miss”

Misslightenment is a visually striking performance where a solo performer interacts with projected imagery, transforming into multiple personas. Through shadow, light, and video, fragmented female narratives unfold, blending reality, fantasy, and mythology. Exploring the male gaze’s role in overshadowing women’s stories and bodies, Eleni Ploumi draws from mythology and contemporary mistreatment of women, reflecting on her own reactions and memories. At its core, Misslightenment questions how these interpretations shape today’s continued mistreatment of women.
