DIVA | with Liisa Pentti (Finland)

DIVA | with Liisa Pentti (Finland)

What new representation and embodiment of being a diva can succeed in this day and age, when bling-bling and social media divas are part of our commercialized everyday lives? Where are our personal, fantastical beings hiding, whose presence is irresistible and wild? In this workshop, through movement work and imaginative tasks, we will create space to explore our personal divas. The workshop is aimed at anyone who is interested in their (inner) divas and requires no prior knowledge of diva life.

Liisa Pentti +Co: Finland

Liisa Pentti is one of the most important visionaries on the Finnish dance scene. She has been active in the performing arts scene as a dancer, choreographer and teacher since 1987. Her inspiration is to constantly find new ways to play with movement and create choreographies. Her work is situated in a landscape where dance, performance and theater meet and the boundaries of performative expression are questioned and explored.

A Society of Screens | Ido Grinberg

A Society of Screens | Ido Grinberg

A person in an empty space full of touchscreens tries to connect with the world outside through the looking glass, to feel, to sense, to hold and to touch. He navigates himself and searches for his voice in a world where screens control his life and tell him where to go and when he arrived at his destination, entering a technological wonderland.

A solo performance for an isolated performer that explores the relation between the individual and the society in a changing world, and examines the interaction between the body and the screen through the sense of touch.

REPATTERNING opens up a dialog between two female-presenting bodies and a knitting machine. The project examines the contrast between traditional narratives and the repetitive but necessary care work that is often overlooked. In the course of the performance, a knitted testimony to the exhausting (movement) work is created from the performers’ biometric data collected live.

In the Pitch (im)perfect format, up-and-coming artists from North Rhine-Westphalia present their artistic concepts, ideas and projects in process. In exchange with international artists and the audience, ideas and concepts can be explored further and future plans can be developed.

I AM | Teatro al Vacío (Mexiko)

I AM | Teatro al Vacío (Mexiko)

I AM different? Why? How can I know? Are we all the same, or are we all different? How equal or different can we be?

I AM is a scenic proposal about the possibility and freedom of being. The scenic proposal of corporal theatre and dramaturgy of images and actions, makes poetic the experience of being invisible and making us visible in a world where acceptance is fundamental to build identity.
