Do we really only have one age? Do each of our body parts really feel the same age or are there differences? What experiences have been inscribed in our bodies and shape our movements? How do we deal with these different perceptions in our own bodies? The participants in the Performacelab explore these questions in a creative, playful and humorous way.

We heartily invite you to the third edition of our FamilyFest. Together with you – from big to small – we want to experience a whole weekend of dance. It will be turbulent and chaotic on the stage: in his premiere, dancer and choreographer Arthur Schopa creates a real TOHUWABOHU with his two sons. Meanwhile, Sonia Mota and Jörg Ritzenhoff set off into the paper jungle – where everything is made of paper and rustles, crackles and cracks.
Before and after the performances, you are warmly invited to get active yourself in our Paper Worlds and Knubbelsuppe workshops for children and accompanying adults.
Linger with us over waffles and warm punch – and sing Christmas carols with gestures in the workshop with “Singfinger – gestures with fun for ALL!”

Around the performances at FAMILYFEST 2024 | tanzfuchs PRODUKTION, children and their companions are invited to get themselves in motion:
In the contemporary dance workshop “Papierwelten” (“Paper Worlds”), there will be crackling and rustling, folding and crumpling, bending and shaping.
The “Knubbelsuppe” dance workshop takes children and their parents or companions straight into the Tohuwabohu (hullabaloo).
With the Singfingers you learn Christmas carols with gestures – sign language with fun for EVERYONE.

For families, life sometimes seems like a big hullabaloo – there are challenges everywhere! Whether it’s on the street, on the train, at school or at home, whether it’s due to school absences, staff shortages or the weather – chaos lurks everywhere. Parents have to take responsibility, while children hardly know what to do with their energy. Yet everyone would rather have fun and games than stress and frustration. In the dance theater production TOHUWABOHU, Arthur Schopa – father, choreographer and dancer – and his two sons, aged 5 and 8, bring their shared experiences in turbulent times to the stage. Through dance and movement, they tell of the challenges, the little moments of happiness and the colorful chaos of family life.

It crackles and rustles, can be folded, crumpled and torn, it is flexible, malleable and can also be cut. It comes in many colors, sizes and thicknesses. It is usually used for writing and printing, but can also be used for painting or handicrafts: Paper. Cologne-based choreographer Barbara Fuchs ventures into the paper jungle with dancer Sonia Mota and composer Jörg Ritzenhoff. Together they tell their experiences and stories with live sound and movement.
