“The Ageing Body Pro Series #1” is a dance-based reflection on the professional challenges and unique aspects of artistic careers in general, and Liisa Pentti’s career as a dancer in particular, in the context of aging.
In a dialogue with the choreographer Silke Z., Pentti reflects on stage about her past and present experiences as a professional, freelance dancer and artistic director of her ensemble.
The focus is equally on movement and conversation. Z. and Pentti share memories, reveal current concerns, and sketch out future perspectives. They offer an authentic insight into artistic processes, artistic identity, and the aging process.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Silke Z. is dedicated to exploring methods for the artistic development of contemporary dance. In this process, she and her ensemble view dance as a direct form of expression for human emotions and needs, and artistic production as a means of reflecting society and bringing perspectives on a given theme to light. Silke Z. has developed over 43 dance productions in Germany and abroad with her intergenerational team. Her works have received numerous national and international awards. Z. founded and directs the ehrenfeldstudios and the international network studiotrade.
Liisa Pentti is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who has been shaping the Finnish dance scene since the 1980s. After graduating from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in 1986, she created numerous works that were performed throughout Europe. In 2000, she founded her own company, Liisa Pentti + Co, which explores new forms of expression at the intersection of dance, performance, and theater. She was a co-founder of Zodiak – Center for New Dance in Helsinki and has been teaching in Finland and internationally for decades. She has received numerous awards for her artistic work, including the National Prize for the Performing Arts.
